Dvirka and Bartilucci Consulting Engineers (D&B) is an expert in all aspects of wastewater treatment and water pollution control. The firm has engineered hundreds of wastewater treatment projects, ranging in capacity from 25,000 to 350,000,000 gallons per day.

Thickening processes have included gravity thickeners, centrifuges and belt filters. Dewatering systems have comprised centrifuges, belt filter presses, and plate and frame presses.

Stabilization processes have included anaerobic and aerobic digestion, chemical stabilization and composting. Drying systems consisted of indirect steam dryers, flash dryers and pelletization in rotary dryers.

Thermal reduction has been accomplished with multiple hearth furnaces, fluidized bed furnaces, as well as co-combustion with refuse in mass burn furnaces.

Beneficial re-use or disposal of sludge and residuals depends on sludge and residual quality, product developed and available markets. Options include land application, land reclamation, landfill cover, soil amendment products and landfill.

D&B is a full service environmental engineering firm. We have the experienced personnel on staff to conduct the facility review and complete an evaluation document and outline alternatives. If warranted by the data collected, D&B will conduct pilot studies on particular equipment or systems to determine feasibility selection and/or future O&M costs.

D&B has experienced project managers and personnel in all engineering disciplines required to complete the detailed design of the improvements or additions selected. Our environmental permitting division can handle all aspects of the project from local, state and national perspectives.

D&B specializes in construction related activities including resident engineering inspection, construction management, review of shop drawings, preparation and updating of schedules, operation and maintenance manuals and start-up and training services.
