Dvirka and Bartilucci Consulting Engineers (D&B) offers a wide variety of electrical engineering services. Expertise is available in the electrical design of power, power supply, motor and control circuits, lighting, communication systems, standby power, supervisory control and data acquisition. Other capabilities include inspection services, testing, start-up, troubleshooting, drawing review, expert witness testimony and utility coordination. The firm has provided electrical engineering services for public and private sector clients in support of the numerous projects credited to the firm’s record. Electrical engineering services have been provided for a range of projects including such areas as wastewater treatment plants, incinerators, water supply systems, municipal/public works facilities and cellular phone sites. Clients have benefited from D&B’s ability to include electrical design as an integral part of a comprehensive project approach.

Electrical capabilities range from providing preliminary information during feasibility studies by providing descriptive parameters to complete point-to-point wiring diagrams for installation. Significant experience with electronic and electrical devices used in programmable process control is another area where D&B has excelled.

Typical electrical capabilities include:

  • Equipment/Material Selection to suit project objectives and that meet local regulations and national codes. Through detailed design calculations, D&B engineers are able to sup
  • port selection of equipment and material suitable for the environmental and operating conditions of the project and design criteria. Examples of areas where electrical expertise is available include lighting, electrical panel sizes and ratings and circuit interrupting devices, feeder sizes, electric load demands, transformers, fault currents, wire and cable pulling/stringing tensions.
  • Control, Process and Instrumentation Design and Specifications experience needed to fully integrate equipment components into a functional system. This includes experience in electronic alarm systems, data acquisition and recording, programmable controllers, computerized process controls and communication systems. Extensive control and electrical systems design capability is available to support complex and sophisticated projects.
  • Construction Related Electrical Services including inspection of in-progress and completed construction, review of shop drawings for compliance with design and specifications, equipment start-up and acceptance testing and contractor progress payment processing. In instances where required, review of manufacturer’s certifications to document equipment performance and material requirements.
