Dvirka and Bartilucci Consulting Engineers (D&B) has a multidisciplined staff who provides preliminary studies, preparation of contract plans and specifications, permitting, construction management and advice, and assistance in the operation of a number of recreational facilities for a variety of governmental and privately sponsored projects. One group of professionals within the D&B organization specializes in parks and recreation facilities and swimming pool projects.
D&B’s personnel provide professional engineering services for a number of park and recreational facility projects including: the design of children’s playgrounds; design of senior citizen park recreation areas and passive recreation areas; golf course infrastructure, bike and municipal tennis courts, including lighting systems to permit nighttime utilization. All facilities incorporate the latest requirements for the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) handicap access. Marine projects include the design of bulkheads, sea walls, piers, docks, boardwalks, breakwaters and circulation pathways, the evaluation of collapsed bulkheading and the preparation of plans and specifications for dredging to improve conditions for recreational boating.
The multidisciplined in-house D&B design professionals specialize in the planning and construction of swimming pools and appurtenances which constitute a modern municipal swimming pool complex. This group of civil, environmental, mechanical and electrical engineers has broad experience in all phases of swimming pool complex designs including: hydraulic analysis of recirculation systems, gutter configurations and surge weirs; water treatment systems including filtration, disinfection and pH control; main pools, diving pools, slide pools and children’s interactive and wading pools. Associated buildings, such as bathhouses, lounge areas, and enclosures to house treatment equipment, chemical storage and feed equipment, and administrative personnel, are included to provide a complete facility.
The group includes resident engineers and certified inspectors with broad experience in the observation of construction and construction management (CM).
